Violet Morning at the Coffee Cup
A Warm Glow in the Quiet Hours
Violet Morning at the Coffee Cup is a love letter to liminal time. Painted in hushed purples and golden yellows, this piece captures the diner just before the day begins—when the neon still hums, the coffee is just starting to percolate, and the world is held in lavender pause. The familiar oversized mug, striped awning, and glowing windows become symbols of comfort, ritual, and return.
This is the magic hour. A space between dreaming and doing. A memory you didn’t know you had.
The Story Behind the Art:
This version of the Coffee Cup came to life after a dawn drive—when the sky hadn’t shaken off its sleep and the diner looked like a stage set for something holy. I’d painted The Coffee Cup before, but never like this. This time, it asked to be bathed in violet and reverence. This time, it felt like church with a coffee pot.
